Josef Ger
Founder
Josef Ger is the founder and CEO of the Senior Living Group of Companies (SLG) and has had a distinguished and successful 30-year career as a principal and as advisor in the seniors’ housing management and real estate development sectors. Josef is the co-founder of AHSC, a newly added member of the Group. SLG specializes in the seniors housing market and advises numerous operators, developers, not-for-profit organizations and financial institutions to plan, develop, market and operate a wide variety of specialized housing projects throughout Canada. Central to the group’s focus is a priority to create residential environments that appeal to the local community and become integral venues for social and entertainment functions, thereby bringing the spirit and essence of the community with them. The results are unique functional environments that fully reflect the communities that it serves.
Lawson Gay
Founder
Gay Company Limited was founded in 1908 and has been in operation for well over 100 years. The company started in the early 1900s as a builder of barns and houses and over the years has gradually come to specialize in all areas of the building industry from New Commercial, Residential and Industrial buildings to Demolitions, Restorations and Renovations of buildings of all sorts including extensive Tenant Improvements. Since its incorporation in 1971, Gay Company Limited has built over 5,100,000 sq. ft. of commercial buildings, over 1,700,000 sq. ft. of industrial space, in excess of 1,630,000 sq. ft. of institutional buildings and over 400 subdivision and custom homes.
Jason Mercier
Director of Operations
Jason has spent the last 18 years of his career in the hospitality industry with premiere hotel brands Starwood and Hilton. After progressively moving through the Food and Beverage departments within the Starwood and Hilton Brands he took a challenging position as the General Manager of the Glenerin Inn & Spa, which was owned by Retirement Life Communities Group. His passion for continuously learning and providing guests with an excellent all-around experience enabled him to better understand his strengths as a leader in the industry. After seven years as a Hotel General Manager and 18 years in the hotel industry, Jason was promoted to the Director of Operations with Retirement Life Communities in the summer of 2018.
Susan Radun
Director & Senior Associate
Susan Radun is a Senior Executive focused on the strategic positioning of projects and directing leasing and sales initiatives. With a career spanning 30+ years, her experience ranges from retail leasing, franchising and development, to leasing and sales and specialized interior design of residential projects aimed at senior’s retirement communities throughout Canada.
Colin Claxton
Senior Associate & Director of Logistics
Colin Claxton of AHSC provides logistics, quality control and budget management. Colin is a seasoned and highly accomplished capital project management professional with 35 years of experience on multimillion-dollar new construction and retrofit projects throughout Southern Ontario. Colin plays a pivotal role in the liaison between the design and construction team members as well as ensuring key elements such as accessibility and buildability. Colin has a wealth of experience with affordable housing development and accountability to government funders. Of particular significance was Colin’s role as Co-Lead Consultant on the development of both an Accessibility Standard and an Accessibility Audit for the Toronto Housing Company, one of North America’s largest social housing portfolios.
Janice Tozak
Development Coordinator
Janice has 22 years of experience working in the seniors housing industry. Specific experience includes the coordination of land development, construction, product procurement, budget management, and post-construction customer service.
